Crawlspace HVAC jobs are not for the faint of heart. Low clearance, dirt floors, deteriorating insulation hanging from the subfloor - it's a tough environment to work in. But the condition of the old system made it clear this one couldn't wait any longer. Rusty ductwork connections, a unit well past its useful life, and the kind of wear that tells you reliability has been a problem for a while.
We pulled out the old system and got the new equipment set in place. Two units, properly leveled on brick pads, with clean duct connections running up through the floor above. A condensate pump was installed to handle drainage properly - something that often gets overlooked on crawlspace installs but makes a real difference long-term.
Here's the thing about crawlspace furnace installations - the difficulty of the job doesn't change what the finished work needs to look like. The new units are sitting solid, the venting is tight, and the condensate line is routed correctly. That's what doing it right looks like, even when nobody sees it every day.
When a system like this gets replaced, you're not just getting a newer piece of equipment. You're getting better airflow distribution, improved efficiency, and a system you can actually count on when the seasons shift. Old, degraded systems work harder than they need to and still fall short - a properly installed replacement changes that entirely.
Crawlspace work is one of those jobs that a lot of contractors don't love taking on. We do. If you've got an aging system tucked under your home and you've been putting off dealing with it, it's worth having someone come take a look before it becomes an emergency.
